State Men Beat Framingham, 89-84

Framingham, MA- The Framingham State College men’s basketball team lost an important conference game at home tonight 89-84 to the visiting Lancers of Worcester State. Heading into the game both teams were involved a three way tie for fourth place in the conference which receives the final spot in the conference tournament.
The Lancers (9-13, 4-5) were on fire from the floor tonight as they connected on 33 of 66 shots (50%) including 8 of 16 from behind the arc. The Rams (9-12, 3-6) were a dismal 30 for 98 from the floor (31%) and were only 10 of 44 from three.
The Lancers offensive attack was led by junior sharpshooter Ryan Frassica (Brockton, MA) who was 8 of 12 from the floor including 6 of 7 from behind the arc for a game high 22 points. Senior Mark Retallic (Oxford, MA) chipped in 16 points on 7 of 11 from the field in limited minutes, while sophomore Justin Sheehan (Carver, MA) also added 16 points.
Junior Michael Costa (Holbrook, MA) led the Rams with 19 points and 6 assists, while senior Derek Wigman (Pembroke, MA) added 16 points and 9 rebounds. Josue Almodovar (Holyoke, MA) added a double double with 14 points and 11 boards, while Ryan Dacey (Pembroke, MA) also chipped in 16 points and 9 boards.
The Rams return to action on Saturday as they travel to Salem State for a 3:00 game, while the Lancers travel to MCLA on Saturday at 4:00.
