December 1, 2007 Lancers Fall in Last Minute To Suffolk, 7-5
Auburn, MA
– The Worcester State ice hockey team fell o the visiting
Suffolk University Rams Saturday evening at Horgan Ice Arena by
the final score of, 7-5. The loss drops the Lancers to 1-7
on the season and 1-3 in ECAC Northeast action. Suffolk
improves to 6-4 and remains perfect in conference action at 4-0.
Trailing, 4-3, heading into the third period, the Lancers tied the game at 4 apiece on a Lee Belisle goal. Suffolk retook the lead at the 16:15 mark on a shorthanded goal by Tim Dancey. Worcester State tied the contest up at 5-5 when freshman Bobby Housser scores with 2:14 remaining in the game off a pass from Tom Ford. With under a minute to play Pencinger scored his third of the game to put the Rams ahead, 6-5, before adding an empty netter with 10 seconds to play for the, 7-5, final. Ryan Hebert had a strong game for the Lancers as he scores a pair of goals including his first collegiate tally. Worcester State netminder Jason Richardson made 26 saves in the loss while counterpart Jeff Rose stopped 24 Lancer offerings. Worcester State returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Fitchburg State Suffolk will host Salve Regina on Tuesday. ##### |
