Ice Hockey Defeats WNEC, 5-3

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior forward Tom Ford (North Grafton, MA) scored twice and junior goalie Jason Richardson (Perkasie, PA) compiled 42 saves as visiting Worcester State won its first game of the season with a 5-3 victory over Western New England College Thursday night (Nov. 15) in an ECAC Northeast game at Smead Arena.

The Lancers are now 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The Golden Bears remain winless at 0-6-1 (0-2-1 ECAC Northeast).

Sophomore forward Mark Rintel (Queens, NY) added a goal
and assist for the visitors.

Western New England College junior defenseman Joe Balog (Ludlow, MA) and sophomore center Ron Carlucci (Stamford, CT) each contributed a goal and assist while sophomore forward Matt Haddock (Hilliard, OH) chipped-in with two assists.
