Hockey Knocks Off Fitchburg in OT, 2-1
Worcester, MA
– Worcester State forward Ginelle Blais (Marlboro, MA)
raced the length of the field on a break away and fed
co-captain Kara Walker (Templeton, MA) who was
streaking down the middle for the game-wining goal with
just 1:09 remaining in overtime to lift the host Lancers of
Worcester State College to a, 2-1, win over Little East
opponent Fitchburg State Saturday afternoon at Coughlin
Field. The victory improves the Lancers to 4-2 overall and

a beautiful stop on the initial offering. After a scoreless
remainder of the half, Worcester State took the, 1-0, lead
into the break.
The Falcons stormed out of the gate in the
opening minute of the second half as junior Heather
DiTerlizzi (Shrewsbury, MA) evened the score at, 1-1,
off a feed from sophomore Vanessa Truax (Foxboro, MA)
less than a minute into second half action.

a pass to the middle of the field to a wide open Walker for
the game-winner.
