Walker Named Little East Co-Offensive Player
of the Week and MASCAC Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week
Worcester, MA -
Worcester State College senior Kara Walker
(Templeton, MA) has been selected as the Little East
Conference Co-Offensive and Massachusetts State College
Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week for her
performances on the field for the Lancer field hockey team
last week as they clinched the eighth seed in the upcoming
LEC playoffs.
In a must
win game for Worcester State, Walker came through with a
pair of goals and an assist in Worcester State's 4-0 win
over Eastern Connecticut. Needing a victory to make the
Little East Conference Tournament, Walker broke a scoreless
first half tie with two goals in a six-minute span in the
second half to lead the Lancers to victory.
Walker led the Lancers in scoring this year
with 20 points on 9 goals and 2 assists. Walker also
tallied 3 game-winning goals on season.
Walker shared both honors with Megan Wolski of Westfield
State College.
Walker and the rest of the Lancers will head
to Keene, NH on Tuesday to take on the top seeded Keene
State College Owls. Last year in the Little East
semifinals, the Lancers lost a, 1-0, overtime contest.
