Worcester State Outlasts UMass-Dartmouth, 1-0

Worcester, MA - The Worcester State College Lancers field hockey team remained undefeated as they knocked off the visiting Corsairs of UMass-Dartmouth Saturday afternoon by the final score of, 1-0, in a Little East Conference match up.  The Lancers move to 3-0 on the year (2-0 LEC), while the loss is the first blemish for the Corsairs who drop to 4-1 (1-1 LEC).

Senior forward Ann Clark (Worcester, MA) struck the decisive blow just 1:44 in to the second half knocking home a feed from sophomore Megan Rosborough (Uxbridge, MA) to give Worcester State a 1-0 edge that would hold up the rest of the contest.

Worcester State net minder Erin MacDonald (Dedham, MA) notched her second shutout of the young season stopping 5 shots in the victory.  UMass-Dartmouth keeper Liz Fitzgerald (Danvers, MA) stopped 4 shots for the visitors.

Worcester State returns to action on Tuesday when they travel across town to take on the Engineers of WPI.  UMass-Dartmouth will look to return to their winning ways on Tuesday when they host Regis College.
