Dudley, MA - The Nichols College field hockey team fell
to Worcester State College, 2-0, in non-conference action on
Wednesday night. The Bison fall to 3-10 overall while the
Lancers improve to 9-3 on the season.
Sophomore Megan Rosborough (Uxbridge, MA) scored what proved
to be the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of play.
Junior Kara Walker (Templeton, MA) added an insurance goal
late in the game to seal the victory for Worcester State.
Overall,
Worcester State out-shot Nichols 17-9, including a 10-0
margin in the first half. The Bison attack came alive in the
second half but junior Erin MacDonald (Dedham, MA) was able
to preserve the shutout, stopping Nichols five shots on net.
Freshman MaryKate Bednarz (Springfield, MA) racked up 13
saves in net for the Bison. She has recorded ten or more
saves in seven games this season.
