Worcester State Loses to Trinity, 2-1 For Immediate Release: 10/22/03 Contact: John Meany (508) 929-8730 1st Half 2nd Half Final Worcester State College (7-7) 1 0 1 Trinity (4-8) 2 1 2 Worcester, MA - The Worcester State College Lancers field hockey team lost to the Trinity College Bantams, 2-1, Wednesday evening on the turf of John Coughlin Memorial Field on the campus of Worcester State College.The Lancers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when senior forward Christen Watt (Hubbardston, MA) knocked one past the Trinity keeper with 21:21 remaining in the first half. Trinity bounced right back getting the equalizer with 10:39 remaining in the half. Trinity got the game winner with 4:12 remaining in the first half. The two teams played a scoreless second half for the 2-1 final score. The loss drops the Lancers to 7-7 on the season while the victory improves the Bantams to 4-8. The Worcester State field hockey team will return to action on Saturday when they host Plymouth State in a key Little East match up.
