WSC opened the scoring with 24:05 remaining in the first half on a goal by sophomore forward Andrea McAllister (Leominster, MA). The Owls of Keene State evened the contest at one apiece with 17:45 remaining on an unassisted goal by Kate Barnowski (Granville, MA). The first half ended with the score tied 1-1.

Keene State took control in the second half as Worcester State was unable to get anything going offensively. The Owls scored 3 times within a 9 minute period to cruise to the victory. Off of a penalty corner with 23:39 remaining in the second half, Barnowski scored her second goal of the game on a feed from sophomore midfielder Michelle McInerney (Hampton, NH). Five minutes later, on another penalty corner, McInerney found the back of the net off of a pass from Nicole Lemire (New Milford, CT). The Owls finished off the scoring with an unassisted goal from Nichole Garneau (Twin Mountain, NH) for a 4-1 final.

The loss drops the Lancers to 7-6 on the season while the win improves Keene State to 11-5.

WSC goaltender Alisha Bates (Palmer) made eleven saves in net for the Lancers while her counterpart , Caitlin Baril (Mansfield, MA), for Keene State saved twelve Lancer shots.

The Worcester State field hockey team will return to action on Wednesday when they host Trinity College. Keene State will travel to Westfield State on Wednesday to take on the Owls.
