Nelson Named d3baseball 2nd Team Preseason
All American
Worcester, MA - Worcester State College senior Nate Nelson (Worcester, MA) has been selected to the 2008 d3baseball.com Preseason All-American Team. Nelson was named to the 2nd team as a designated hitter.
In his first year with the Lancers last season, Nelson was impressive season finishing second in the MASCAC in batting average with a mark of .425. Nelson also had with 32 RBI and 9 homeruns. Nelson led the MASCAC in slugging and on base percentages with .735 and .577 marks. Nelson also led the MASCAC and reset the Worcester State single season record for walks with 32. Nelson was the MASCAC 1st Team Designated Hitter. He was also chosen to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association’s 2007 All-New England Division III 1st team at designated hitter.
Nelson and the rest of the Lancers will begin their preseason workouts shortly with their first game slated for March 1st at Rowan University.
