Clean Shoe Policy

2 SHOE POLICY: All visitors to the Gymnasium Building to use the fitness center or gym must bring a second pair of clean footwear in which to change into. The 2nd pair of footwear should be hand carried in and clean (free of rocks, pebbles, dirt, sand, gum and road salt). In order for this policy to be effective, we ask that you put your street shoes back on only after you return to the lobby, not before.

 RATIONALE: This policy has been implemented in order to preserve the life of the floor surfaces and equipment in the fitness room. This policy is typical at most progressive recreational sports facilities and private health clubs.

 BLACK SOLED EXERCISE SHOES: Provided they have a non-marking sole, black soled shoes are fine to wear in the gym. Outdoor hiking boots and some types of running shoes are footwear that will mark playing surfaces, and are NOT permitted on the gymnasium floor. If you have any questions on whether your shoes are “legal”, please ask a member of the administrative staff.

Coughlin FieldJohn Coughlin Stadium
Worcester State College's John Coughlin Memorial Field is a 2,500 seat artificial surface stadium located on the Worcester State campus that is home to the football, men's and women's soccer, field hockey and women's lacrosse teams. It also serves as a track facility.  The Stadium has hosted numerous high school championship games in football, field hockey and soccer as well as the high school state track meet.  The stadium features a three bay garage, refreshment facility as well as a state of the art press box and public address system.

 

John Tivnan FieldTivnan Field at Lake Park
John Tivnan Field at Lake Park serves as the Worcester State College baseball facility.  The filed is operated by the City of Worcester Parks Department and has a seasonal full time groundskeeper.  The facility serves as a game only filed as it hosts numerous leagues from the spring throughout the summer.  The complex features lighting to accommodate night time games.

 
 

Lancer Gymnasium
The Worcester State College Gymnasium is home to the women's and men's basketball teams as well as the women's volleyball team. The building also houses the athletic department offices.  The 750 capacity gymnasium offers an intense atmosphere for all contests.  The gym building also houses an updated weight room/fitness center.

 

 

Rockwood FieldRockwood Park
The Worcester State College softball team plays on a field adjacent to Coughlin Memorial Field.  The field is operated by the City of Worcester Parks Department.  The softball field has hosted numerous high school state championships.  The field features lighting for night games as well as a pressbox and snack bar.

 

 

Daniel Horgan Memorial Ice Rink - Auburn, MA
 The Worcester State College ice hockey team plays and practices at the Horgan Memorial Ice Rink in Auburn, MA just a few minutes from campus.  The rink is run by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
